Green Buildings
Hope has committed to incorporate as many green strategies as possible in our new developments.
In 2003, we invested funds from our capital initiative for Green upgrades to our CVC and HCC projects. The Green Institute salvaged hardwood flooring from a 1940s era Army ammunition factory and Hope purchased 18,000 sq. feet of maple flooring. Volunteers “de-nailed” the wood and the flooring was installed in 40 affordable rental and homeowner units. Hope also installed an energy efficient central heating and cooling, energy efficient lighting, efficient windows, and water saving devices at CVC.
