Youth and Community

(for ages 6 – 14)

In all our Youth in Community activities, we provide a safe, stable and welcoming environment for youth ages 6 - 14.

We value diversity, learning, creativity, leadership, and FUN, and we believe in the power of young people to shape their community in positive ways.

Young people help to develop program activities and take leadership roles in making them happen. Our activities are fun and purposeful, focusing on the strengths and interests of the youth in this multicultural community.

The Youth in Community Program offers many different opportunities, including:

  • field trips in the neighborhood and beyond
  • classes and workshops with visiting artists and guest teachers
  • a regular youth-generated newsletter
  • academic enrichment through tutoring and homework help
  • opportunities to develop leadership skills
  • other special projects we plan together
