Bob and Lorraine Melcher have been connected with Hope Community since our beginning in 1977. For over 3 decades Bob and Lorraine have continued to support the work of Hope. In 2009 they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. As a tribute to this special event, each of their children made a gift to Hope Community. It was a great honor for us to be part of this wonderful celebration.
Hope Community Court
A model for creating affordable in-fill housing in an urban setting, while preserving green space and common amenities for residents to share.
Hope developed Hope Community Court, a 10-unit town home cluster development at the south end of the Hope Block. Hope Community Court features five rental townhomes and one carriage house and four for-sale townhomes. This project was part of the Franklin Portland Gateway and completes The Hope Block and is located adjacent to existing playgrounds, picnic pavilion and green space.
Hope Community Court presents a model for housing density and common space in the urban core. Rowhouses and carriage houses are custom-designed modular units providing affordability and can accommodate households with larger families. The development is adjacent to other properties currently owned and managed by Hope and has access to common play space, patios, benches, gardens, walkways, a picnic pavilion and playgrounds.
