Youth Program Volunteer Opportunities

Learning in Community:
Work with a children’s literacy program in a supportive community environment, where children have fun learning one-to-one with adult volunteers. Activities include reading, writing, and storytelling. Volunteers play the important role of encouraging and supporting the children as they develop their skills. The program meets on Saturdays. Volunteers are asked to commit for the length of the quarterly series. Training is provided for volunteers through the Minnesota Literacy Council.

Youth in the City Mentoring (YIC):
Through a group setting youth ages 10 – 14 explore their opinions, values and beliefs in a positive way. Volunteers assist the program facilitator. Class is held on Saturday mornings.
